AVD-Seal-Special.ps1 prepares a Specialized Master Image for deployment in a stateless environment. It should be run before shutting down the Virtual Machine and creating an Azure Compute Gallery Image Version for deployment to Virtual Machine Scale Sets using AVDManage.
The following tasks are performed before shutting down the VM.
- Disables update services (Edge, Chrome, OneDrive, Windows & Office)
- Disables maintenance and update tasks
- Resets Microsoft Message Queuing if installed
- Removes Ghost hardware
- Empties Recycle Bin
- Clears Branch Cache
- Resets Windows Search
- Removes temporary files
- Configures and clears event logs
- Neutralises the Windows Azure Guest Agent
- Shuts the VM down
After the Virtual Machine has shutdown, stop and deallocate the Virtual Machine before creating a Specialized Image Version.
